The Academy aims at purchasing the rare collections from the personal libraries of the renowned Sanskrit scholars and the manuscripts from the Sanskrit research institutions of the various parts of the country, which intend to sell them off. There are nearly lakhs of unpublished manuscripts according to the sources from the NIM. The Academy proposes to acquire these Manuscripts and transform them into transliteration, soft copies and publish them. Being situated in the capital city of Andhra Pradesh this Academy is of much use to the research scholars as well as seekers of Sanskrit knowledge.

Sanskrit Academy has successfully accomplished its task of publishing books, organizing various programs to propagate Sanskrit, Sanskrit learning courses, skill demonstration programs for various kinds of students, conducting seminars and workshops, organizing lectures by the eminent personalities on the multifaceted Sanskrit literature. The present group of employees, with their dedication and commitment, has been contributing for the healthy growth of the Academy.

Each staff of the academy is engaged in the editing and preparation of at least one Sanskrit publication a year.
