Sanskrit Academy has come into existence in 1954. Since then it is functioning as a research centre of the famous Osmania University (OU), Hyderabad.
This institution has a separate building, built in the year 1973, in an area covering 1.18 acres of land. In 2002, the Academy was elevated to the status of Adarsha Shodha Sansthan with the recognition and financial support of the Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.
OBJECTIVES
- To collect , preserve, and investigate old and rare Sanskrit Manuscripts.
- To edit and publish Sanskrit Manuscripts as well as research works.
- To promote and propagate Sanskrit learning in general , and research in particular.
