MAJOR ACTIVITIES DURING THE YEAR 2018 – 2019

SANSKRIT GRAMMAR MADE EASY LEVEL -1

Sanskrit Academy conducted a course called ‘Sanskrit Grammar made easy level -1’(LaghuSiddantaKaumudi –level-1) from 6th April, 2018 to 24th April, 2018 (15 days) in its premises. LaghuSiddantaKaumudi is a celebrated Sanskrit commentary by PanditaVaradarajaBhatta (early 19th century on the Ashtadhyayi and is believed to be more popular work. LaghuSiddhantaKaumudi is a complete introduction to Panini Sutras for the use of beginners on a particular topic. These classes were highly useful to the students of Sanskrit grammar who are not capable of studying the Ashtadhyayi or SiddantaKaumudi with the help of Sanskrit commentaries.

One –day workshop on “Awareness Camp on Ancient Manuscripts” in collaboration with Government Oriental Manuscripts Library (GOML), Osmania University, Hyderabad, was organized at BabuJagjeevanRao Govt. Degree College, Hyderabad on 25th April, 2018

SANSKRIT GRAMMAR MADE EASY LEVEL -2

A course called Sanskrit Grammar made easy level -2(LaghuSiddantaKaumudi –level-2) was conducted from 2nd July, 2018 to 12th July, 2018 for the students of Sanskrit grammar who are not able to study the Ashtadhyayi or SiddantaKaumudi with the help of Sanskrit commentaries.

A 10-DAY WORKSHOP ON SANSKRIT COMPUTATIONAL LINGUISTICS

A 10-Day Workshop on Sanskrit Computational Linguistics was conducted from 25th July,2018 to 4th August, 2018. Demonstration of various Sanskrit Computational Linguistic Tools and Practical sessions were held in the workshop. Participation certificates were given to those candidates who attended for all 10 days.

SANSKRIT WEEK CELEBRATIONS

Sanskrit Academy has a tradition of observing Sanskrit week celebrations every year in the auspicious month of “Sravana” from 24th to 29th August, 2018. As a part of this, the Academy organized Six Extension Lectures on different topics such as Veda, Vedanga, Darshana etc.

A THREE-DAY NATIONAL SEMINAR ON VYASASAHITYAM

The Academy organized a Three-Day National Seminar on VyasaSahityam from 24th to 26th August, 2018 as a part of Sanskrit-week celebrations.

30-DAY SANSKRIT COURSE

Sanskrit Academy conducted 30-Day Sanskrit Course under Ashtadashi Project sanctioned by Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan under Ministry of HRD, GOI, New Delhi from 13-09-2018 to 22-10-2018. School children and college students and their parents participated and acquired Sanskrit language skills in the Sanskrit classes. The course was conducted for imparting Sanskrit language skills and bringing awareness about scientific aspects of Sanskrit language and Sanskrit literature. This camp threw light on Panini Astadhyayi sutras and Sanskrit computational Linguistic tools. Participants were greatly delighted and impressed by the course. Thirty (30) Lectures were delivered by eminent Sanskrit scholars on various topics of Sanskrit literature.

Book Inauguration of Journal of Sanskrit Academy – Volume XXV was held on 26.11.2018

MUKTASWADHYAYAPEETHAM (DISTANCE EDUCATION)

Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan gave permission to Sanskrit Academy to conduct the contact classes of three Bridge Courses of Muktaswadhyayapeetham and also to conduct examinations on behalf of Rajiv Gandhi Campus, Sringerii. One hundred and twenty five (125) students in the year 2018-19 took admission in various bridge courses. The Inaugural Programme of Muktaswadhyayapeetham (Distance Education ) classes was held on 26.11.2018

BOOK EXHIBITION

Book Exhibition was conducted on 12th -25th Dec, 2018 at NTR Garden, Hyderabad.

MANUSCRIPTS EXHIBITION

Manuscripts Exhibition was conducted on 28th& 29th August, 2018 in the premises of Sanskrit Academy.

A 10-DAY TEXT READING CLASSESON “RAGHUVAMSHAM” ( I SARGA)

A 10-day Text Reading classeson “Raghuvamsham” ( I Sarga) of MahakaviKalidasa was held from 27th Dec, 2018 to 7th Jan, 2019

ONE-DAY INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP

One-day International Workshop on“Formal-Functional Cognitive Linguistic Theories – A Critic towards Karmik Linguistic Theory,in collaboration with Karmik Linguistic and Literary Association (KLLAS), Hyderabad was organized on 09.01.2019
